If desired you could split part2 into 2 partitions - a small boot partition, and the rest. Offline. Burned each to usb stick fat 32, first using unetbootin. All returned the same error message "Failed to load ldlinux.c32" Burned ubuntu studio to usb using dd command as suggested.
